When sewing, gluing or weaving hair extensions, or tracks, into hair, it is common to braid the hair beforehand. Typically, Brazilian Curly Hair is braided into cornrows, which are also called flat braids because they lay against the scalp. The braid requires each piece of hair to be weaved, or intertwined, with another. When preparing cornrows for a weave, you will braid the Brazilian Human Hair in a circular direction, around the head, following the circumference of the scalp.

1. Separate and pin up any hair that will not be included in the cornrow and that will be used to cover up the tracks of the Brazilian Hair Weave.

2. Part the hair with the comb. It is easiest to braid beginning at the side of the scalp, directly underneath any hair that will be left out, and working your way down and around to the other side. The part should be in a circle and should be a half an inch to an inch from the hairline depending upon how wide the cornrow will be.

3. Divide that bunch of hair into three separate strands and braid the hair into the first segment, or stitch. After each of the three strands of hair has been intertwined within the braid, add more loose hair to the middle strand before beginning the next stitch of the braid. Each strand of hair should be braided together once, then more hair should be added to the middle strand before proceeding with the next braid stitch. This procedure will keep the braid close to the scalp.

4. Part another segment of hair to form the next braid around the circumference of the scalp, if one is needed for additional hair extension applications. Start this cornrow by pulling in the excess hair from the last cornrow, or braid, and repeat the braiding process until all hair that is to be braided has been included in one of the cornrows. Now you will be ready to apply your hair extensions.

As a general styling tip, we advise you to use paddle brushes with smooth bristles. When untangling your hair, make sure that you brush it gently, starting from the ends and going towards the top of your head.

How to Care for a Human Hair Wig

May 21, 2018 7:33:12 PM

Although they are more expensive then the synthetic varieties, human hair wigs allow for a more natural appearance, whether it’s for every day use or for a stage play. However, when it comes to caring for the wig, just because it’s real hair does not mean you treat it like the hair on your head. There are things you need to do to protect your investment which will allow the wig to look good for years.

1. Protect the wig from an oily appearance by keeping your own hair clean. Besides washing your own hair, you can also wear a wig cap under the wig.

2. Wash a human hair wig infrequently; wear it for about six times between washings. However, if it starts looking oily or dirty, then decrease the wearing time between washings.

3. Remove tangles from the wig before washing. Use a wig pick for a curly wig or a wig brush for a straight wig. Carefully comb/brush through the tangles.

4. Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add wig shampoo. Soak the wig for five minutes in the soapy water. Gently squeeze out excess water. Rinse well in lukewarm water.

5. Place the wig back in the sink. Pour shampoo in your hand and gently massage the wig. Be careful not to overdo the massage. Rinse well in lukewarm water.

6. Pour conditioner in your hand; the amount will depend upon the bottle’s directions. Massage it into the wig and allow to stand for five minutes. Rinse well in lukewarm water. Gently squeeze out excess water.

7. Place the wig in a towel and blot gently to towel dry. Place the wig on the wig stand to air dry. If you need to wear it soon, a human hair wig can be dried with a blow dryer set on low.

8. Comb or brush gently through the wig. Style using hot rollers or curling iron or Velcro rollers. Set with a wig spray or light hairspray.

How to Curl Human Hair Extensions

May 1, 2018 7:51:11 PM

Hair extensions attach to your natural hair and add length and volume. Whether you have shorter hair and want to add some length or have thin, lifeless hair and want to add body, hair extensions can help you achieve your desired style. there are two types of hair extensions: synthetic and human hair. The human hair extensions are a higher quality and ensure the most natural look. You can style them the way you would your natural hair, including curling.

1. Brush or comb all of the human hair extension wefts out to remove any tangles.

2. Spray a thermal heat protectant over the extensions and brush through. This helps add protection to the hair by acting as a barrier from the heat of hot styling tools.

3. Heat your curling iron.

4. Clip a single weft from your hair extensions onto a piece of cardboard, place the cardboard on a ledge or off the side of a table and put a weight on top of the cardboard. A bookend or door stopper works well. By setting each hair extension up in this manner for curling, you have both hands free.

5. Press the handle on the curling iron to open the barrel. Place a 1-inch section of hair into the opening and grip the very ends.

6. Wind this section of hair around the curling iron until you reach the top of the weft.

7. Wait for about 30 seconds and then slowly begin unwinding the hair without pulling, as this can ruin the curl.

8. Curl the rest of the weft of hair in this manner. The smallest may require only a single curl. Spray the entire human hair extension lightly with hairspray to set the curls.

9. Repeat this process over the rest of the hair extension wefts, working in 1-inch sections until all of the hair is curled.

10. Run your fingers through the wefts of hair to loosen the curls slightly. This blends the curls together nicely and helps you achieve the most natural look when you place them in your hair.

You should take good care of your hair bundles to ensure they have long lifespan and no damage to your own natural hair. Here are some tips that you can do to care for your human hair bundles.

How To Care For Your Brazilian Hair Bundles?
To take care of your Brazilian hair bundles, the most important thing to do is have the weave applied professionally. To apply your hair bundles properly, it will be easy to care for and looks wonderful. If your human hair bundle is not applied properly, it may come out earlier than it should or it will tense your natural hair which will cause excessive hair damage and breakage.

Keep chemical processing and heat like curling, flat irons, and other excessive use of heating appliances to a minimum to keep the hair strands strong and supple. If you plan to use an iron on the hair, make sure you apply a thermal protection spray first.

Apply a conditioning treatment and wrap up the hair weave and bundles in a silk scarf at night before bed.

Cleaning Virgin Brazilian Hair bundles
If you have virgin Brazilian hair bundles, you should clean your scalp and the hair bundles as well. You can wash your hair bundles weekly with a mild shampoo starting with the scalp down to the hair edges. Wash slowly so that you do not tangle the hair bundles anymore than you have to. Make sure that you washed out the shampoo and conditioner thoroughly so that there is no product build-up which will negatively impact your scalp.

Wide Tooth Comb
Dry your Brazilian hair bundles using a thick towel. To pat it dry rather than rub it.f you have to use a dryer, do so when you absolutely have to as frequent heat will destroy virgin Brazilian hair bundles. Use a wide toothed comb or a weave brush to carefully comb and style your hair bundles. Work slowly from section to section to avoid tugging or pulling which may lead to breakage. If the bundles or your scalp is dry, apply a light oil or moisturize your scalp as you comb it out.
